From Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 gather with youth from around the Diocese to celebrate the beginning of Advent at St. John’s Cathedral in Spokane. Open to youth grades 7-12, the weekend will be filled with spiritual exploration, creative worship, small group discussion and, of course, crazy games.
The Revs Elaine Breckenridge and Margaret Fisher will lead a program that includes a Celtic Eucharist and reflections on Advent as seen through the eyes of the young Mary. On Sunday, Nightlight will lead the congregation of St. John’s in worship, planning the music, liturgy and even writing the sermon!
It will be a weekend of rejuvenation, exploration and the warmth of friendship as the cold of winter sets in. Night Light will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30 at St. John’s (127 E 12th Spokane, WA) and end at 11 a.m. on Sunday Dec 2. All are also invited to the Cathedral’s Advent Event from 11 a.m. on Sunday where you can make advent wreaths, Christmas ornaments and beeswax candles while munching on ginger bread cookies and sipping hot apple cider.
Please fill out the registration form, Youth Covenant, and medical form and send them with $20 to Youth Ministries, The Episcopal Diocese of Spokane, 245 E 13th Ave, Spokane, WA 99202-1114 by November 26th. Please spread the word and remind the youth in your congregation. For more information please contact Michelle Klippert at (509) 838-4277 or mmklip@comcast.net. Youth who have never been to a youth event are particularly encouraged to come join us in this season of festivity. Thank you for your help and continuing support of Youth Ministries in the Diocese.
