Ordination Reminder (June 27)
Please remember the ordinations to the diaconate of Charlotte Mills of St. David’s, Spokane, and Ellen Loposer of St. Stephen’s Spokane this Sunday, June 27 at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Cathedral. All are invited and the festival color is red.
Web Page Focus is Caring for Environment
A new page, “Spotlight on the Earth” is now located on our diocesan website, www.spokanediocese.org under the heading of “Ministries.” The focus of this page is to offer information on many aspects of tcaring for the environment, including food, links to helpful websites, cosmetics/toiletries, housecleaning, non toxic gardening and lawn care, and practical advice for daily living in a more sustainable manner. On the main page, an invitation is extended to diocesan churches to share stories and photos of environmental projects, events, and positive changes. Regular updating of environmental information will occur in the form of new links at the side.
Garden Party for Creation Care (June 30)
The Faith and Environment Network will hold a garden party at 6:30 p.m. June 30 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 314 S. Spruce St., Spokane. The party is an opportunity to meet other Creation Care advocates, tour the church’s garden and share ideas. Please RSVP by e-mail: faithandenvironment@gmail.com.
Celtic Communion Service (June 24)
A Celtic communion service celebrating the summer solstice is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 24 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall St., Spokane. The service features contemporary chants and Celtic music. The service will conclude out of doors around a bonfire. A reception follows the service. Seekers and visitors are welcome.
