Vigil for the Earth (June 17)
A Charolotte, NC, Episcopal Church will initiate “VIGILance 2010”, a Prayer Vigil for The Stewardship of God’s Earth with a special emphasis on the Gulf Coast and the oceans and waterways of the earth on Thursday, June 17. Churches and individuals across the country are being encouraged to observe this vigil between 7 and 8 p.m. local time. The prayers to be used in St. John’s service are available on their website (www.saintjohns-charlotte.org) and may be used by others in creating their own service. St. John’s is a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina.
Holy Spirit, Sandpoint to Celebrate Renovations (June 26)
The congregation of Holy Spirit, Sandpoint/Dover, ID, will celebrate the completion and dedication of their newly renovated spaces on Saturday, June 26, beginning at 11 a.m. when Bishop Waggoner will preside at a service of Holy Eucharist. Immediately following worship a brunch will be prepared in their long-awaited kitchen. All members of the diocesan family are invited to attend the celebration and see firsthand the newly renovated sanctuary, sacristy, parish hall, kitchen, and multi-purpose room. Those attending are asked to confirm a lunch reservation with the Bishop’s Warden, Cathy Cant via email at ashcrest@earthlink.net or by calling her at 208.255.5987.
