A Message from Episcopal Relief and Development

Despite major difficulties in the logistics of getting the available help to the Haitians who need it, that work is going forward.  ERD is working closely with the Episcopal d Diocese of the Dominican Republic to get shipments into Haiti on a daily basis. They are also collaborating with diocesan staff and with their partner Worldwide Village to secure channels and to transport medical supplies and food to affected rural areas.  This collaboration will also develop channels for the long-term response mechanism so that the recovery process can operate efficiently in the coming weeks and months.

The Episcopal Diocese of Haiti sends thanks for all the support from the Episcopalians in the United States.  The Bishop is discouraging mission trips at this time, saying that the best help right now is in the form of prayers and finances.

To assist please consider making a donation to Episcopal Relief and Development’s Haiti Fund at www.er.d.org or call 1.800.334.7626.  Gifts can be mailed to Episcopal Relief & Development, PO Box 7058, Merrifield, VA – 22116-7058.  Please write “Haiti” in the memo of all checks.
