The Companion Diocese ministry into which our Diocese entered many years ago has provided a rich and varied outlet of concern for others, especially children in the Diocese of Belize. Many of the members of our Diocese have given of themselves to this outreach project, and have in the process been also enriched.
The intent over the next few weeks is to have contact with the good people of Belize and to determine the level of relationship with them as a Companion Diocese.
As I begin my involvement with this wonderful ministry, I hope to not only support what we have done in the past, but to also investigate the possibility of engaging another Diocese in a relationship. I will be talking with Bishop Waggoner regarding this in the future.
