Spring Fling 2011 was a wonderful event, and a great success! To view photos of this fundraiser event, which benefitted the Bishop’s Scholarship fund, click here!
The Bishop’s Guild was founded in 1929 by Angela Ware Cross, wife of Bishop Edward M. Cross to serve a source of friendship, support, and financial aid to the Bishop.
Initially, the Bishop’s Guild divided its financial support between the Cathedral Building Fund and a Discretionary Fund from which the Bishop could draw according to its priorities.
The Bishop’s Guild has performed many varying functions over the years and has evolved since its beginning.
Today, from our two annual fundraisers, the Spring Fling and the Holiday Faire, we support the Bishop’s Scholarship and Discretionary Fund and contribute to the Bishop’s Portrait and Vestment Fund.
The Bishop’s Guild traditionally hosts receptions for Ordinations that are held at the Cathedral and sometimes for confirmations at the Bishop’s request.
Luncheon meetings are held at noon once a month on the second Friday of the month from September to May inclusive.
Membership consists of women from the congregations throughout the Diocese and we welcome new members.
