One lay position and one clerical position open for four year terms; one year absence required between elected full terms. Eight members meet as necessary, usually on Saturdays.
The Standing Committee serves as Council of Advice to the Bishop; acts upon the applications for Holy Orders; is responsible for the purchase, sale, leasing or mortgaging of any church real property; sanctions the election of each bishop in The Episcopal Church; and becomes the Ecclesiastical Authority for the Diocese in the absence of a Bishop.
