Here are some online Advent calendars to enrich your season:

CHS Associates to Offer Advent Quiet Day

All are invited to an Advent quiet morning, “The Rhythm of Advent,” from 9 a.m. to noon at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 1832 W. Dean Ave in Spokane. The day is offered by associates of the Community of the Holy Spirit. Participants are invited to bring a sack lunch for a gathering after the retreat time. Leader will be the Rev. Canon Kristi Philip.

Cathedral to Host Trinity Institute Webcast

St. John’s Cathedral will host a webcast of the Trinity Institute conference, Radical Abundance – A Theology of Sustainability. The conference dates are Jan. 21-23 and all interested persons are invited to participate. Speakers include Majora Carter, founder of an anti-poverty program in the Bronx designed to improve the environment and reduce public health costs; Timothy Gorringe, a professor of theological studies at the University of Exeter; David Korten, author of “When Corporations Rule the World” and Nestor Miguez, a professor of New Testament studies at Instituto Universitario ISEDT in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Certificate in Teaching the Bible

Whitworth University in Spokane will offer a certificate program in teaching the Bible from February-May. The program meets Saturdays and costs $350, which includes books, materials and lunches. Growing Appreciative Communities

Rob Voyle has been a leader in teaching appreciative inquiry to clergy and lay leaders. There is now a program available for congregations, Yes3, that is to help develop an appreciative culture in congregations. It may also be used to prepare a strategic visioning community for a congregational visioning process. A free teleconference will be offered at 7 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Dec. 30. Baptismal Water – Thicker Than Blood

Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley will present it’s annual Epiphany West Conference Jan. 28-30 with conference classes Jan. 26-28. This year’s topic is “Baptismal Water – Thicker than Blood.” It will explore a theology of the Church rooted in baptism, its implications for ecumenical relations and for the leadership and mission of the Church.
