The Episcopal Diocese of Spokane Foundation was established in 2004 at the direction of Bishop James Waggoner and through the efforts of the first Trustees of the Foundation. Its purpose is to provide a way for gifts to benefit the Diocese of Spokane.
The Foundation’s first funds, the Endowment for the Episcopate and the Endowment for Church Growth and Development were created for the Diocese’s Renewing Our Mission Endowment Campaign.
Endowment Funds
All of these funds are Endowments. The principle is retained in perpetuity to grow and generate earnings, which are then used for immediate needs.
Endowment for the Episcopate
Endowment for the Episcopate is a primary endowment; that is, its intent is to help underwrite the operational costs of the Office of the Bishop and the Diocese. This in turn will reduce the funds that congregations currently provide for these resources.
Endowment for Church Growth and Development
The Endowment for Church Growth and Development will provide funds that can be used by programs and congregations as they build for the future.
Endowment for Camp Cross
The Endowment for Camp Cross has been established to provide an ongoing fund for the needs and growth of this vital Diocesan resource. Gifts will be used to build the endowment to the point where the earnings generated annually can make a significant impact on the expenses of maintaining, running and growing our youth and leadership programs at Camp Cross.
Gifts to the Foundation
Gifts to the Foundation may be directed to an existing fund, or you may wish to establish a new fund for another purpose. Annual gifts to the Foundation are very welcome and may be specified to a particular purpose or may be unrestricted - to be used for the greatest needs of the Diocese.
