Chris Nelson, organist at Holy Trinity, Spokane, will perform a double recital on successive Sundays - August 10 at Holy Trinity, August 17 at St. John’s Cathedral. Both recitals begin at 4 p.m. By giving a double recital of the same program on two organs, Nelson will promote the connections between these two churches. Holy Trinity’s instrument, now 100 years old, once resided in the former cathedral before the construction of St. John’s Cathedral. St. John’s now houses a splendid Aeolian-Skinner instrument of some 80 ranks. Holy Trinity’s 25-rank Pilcher has been well-maintained through the years but requires continual upkeep and restoration.
